What you will do
You will work on two strategic applications built in WinDev, ensuring their continuity, risk management and long-term viability. Your work will include technical analysis, documentation, risk assessment and ongoing maintenance.
Analysis and documentation of the application architecture
- Conduct a complete technical audit of both applications
- Map the existing software architecture: application components, HFSQL database structures, interfaces and data flows, synchronisation and replication mechanisms, document management and generation, security and access rights management
- Produce architecture documentation that can be used by technical and business teams
Identification of operational and maintenance prerequisites
- Identify and document all technical dependencies: WinDev, WebDev and HFSQL licences and third-party components, server infrastructures and client workstations, deployment procedures, backup and restore mechanisms, synchronisation and replication procedures, source code, repositories and version control tools
- Assess the ability for a third party to take over maintenance
Risk management
- Identify technical, operational and organisational risks related to the applications
- Evaluate risks including data loss or corruption, dependency on specific technologies or resources, security vulnerabilities, documentation and code maintainability
- Develop a risk mitigation strategy and a prioritised action plan with corrective actions, preventive actions and modernisation recommendations
Corrective and evolutionary maintenance and business support
- Analyse and handle incidents and support requests
- Diagnose anomalies and propose appropriate corrections
- Develop functional enhancements validated by the business teams
- Perform technical testing and support user acceptance testing
- Deploy fixes and enhancements
- Provide technical advice to business managers and IT teams
Deliverables
- Detailed architecture documentation for both applications
- Inventory of technical prerequisites, licences and infrastructures
- Mapping of flows and interfaces
- Risk analysis and risk reduction plan
- Documentation of operational and maintenance procedures
- Periodic maintenance reports and tracking of business requests
What we are looking for
- Expert-level knowledge of WinDev application development, including client-heavy application architecture
- Expert-level experience with PC Soft WinDev 2025 environment
- Expert-level experience with HFSQL Classic and HFSQL Client/Server
- Solid understanding of WinDev application generation, compilation and deployment mechanisms
- Confirmed experience with version control tools such as Git, SVN or equivalent
- Strong technical analysis skills
- Native-level French
Important requirement: You must provide your own development environment and the necessary licences to carry out the work, including a WinDev 2025 licence that allows you to maintain, compile and generate the applications. No development licence or workstation will be provided.
The setting
This assignment runs from early January 2027 for 12 months, with a workload of 145 days spread across the year (approximately 3 days per week).
The work is hybrid, with a minimum of 50% on-site presence required in Brussels.
All work is conducted in French.
