What you will do
You will join the asset planning team within the network operations directorate of a Belgian energy network operator. The team is responsible for the budgeting process across multiple infrastructure disciplines, and you will help digitise and centralise this process.
Your work will focus on building a robust data platform and migrating the current Excel-based budget workflows into a central database:
- Collect and analyse data from various applications and internal and external parties to provide a clear picture of the situation and context
- Assist in developing the budget and multi-year investment plan, both technically and financially, to support internal clients and the organisation
- Monitor and advise internal and external clients on the execution of long-term planning and budgets
- Set up a basic structure in Databricks according to organisational standards and migrate the current Excel solution to a central database
- Ensure budget changes are tracked historically, including through SCD Type 2, with full traceability of adjustments, decisions, assumptions and scenarios
- Advise and support the asset planning team in decision-making and controlled data entry via interfaces and bulk uploads
- Provide support with training and communication about the information and processes
- Act as an independent facilitator and coordinator, ensuring coherence of information and processes within and outside the network operations directorate
In a later phase, you may also contribute to developing an interface on top of Databricks.
