What you will do
You will join a diverse team working on quality reporting for a Belgian public-sector organisation. The role involves three main areas of work:
Functional reporting for business needs
- Clarify user requirements through direct conversations with stakeholders
- Analyse what users need and which data sources are available
- Collaborate with data engineers who build the data marts
- Design and build the requested reports
- Test reports and provide demos and support to clients
Self-service support and development
- Share ideas and best practices to evolve towards greater self-service within the organisation
- Create good datasets aligned with the client's business story
- Provide training and support for Power BI usage
- Help with simple report building questions and minor report modifications
Team support
- Adjust existing reports as needed
- Collaborate on data mart and dataset development
- Support the team with urgent questions and projects
What we are looking for
Must have
- Demonstrable experience with data warehouse modelling (1 year)
- Demonstrable experience with Microsoft Fabric (6 months)
- Demonstrable experience with Power BI (2 years)
- Project-oriented work experience with data warehouse modelling or a demonstrable education in data warehouse modelling
- Knowledge and experience planning, designing and building data warehouse applications using tools such as Cognos or DataStage
- Knowledge of Kimball or star schema modelling
- Fluent Dutch (CEFR level C2)
Should have
- Experience with SQL (1 year)
- Experience facilitating workshops or conducting conversations about user expectations
- Knowledge and experience of data warehousing concepts, processes and architectures
- Knowledge of building data warehouse components: data integration (ETL), reporting and analysis (BI), databases and metadata
- Knowledge of Agile development methodology
Nice to have
- Experience with Azure Functions (6 months)
- Experience with presenting
- Previous experience in the public sector
The setting
This is an assignment with an estimated volume between 912 and 1200 hours. The assignment runs until late January 2027, with a full-time schedule. Hybrid working is possible. You will be based in Brussels.
The working language is Dutch.
