IT Project Manager

A Belgian university hospital

What you will do

You will oversee and coordinate multiple staff and equipment moves across a hospital campus, ensuring minimal disruption to operations. Your responsibilities will include:

  • Plan, execute and oversee the relocation of staff and IT equipment
  • Develop and manage detailed project plans, including timelines, resource allocation and risk management
  • Collaborate with various departments including IT and facilities to ensure smooth transitions
  • Maintain clear and consistent communication with all stakeholders, providing regular updates on project status
  • Work with external vendors to ensure timely delivery and setup of IT equipment and services
  • Ensure all moves comply with organisational policies and relevant regulations, including data security and health and safety standards
  • Quickly identify and resolve any issues that arise during the relocation process
  • Inspire and motivate team members to achieve project goals
  • Foster a collaborative team environment and address any conflicts that arise

What we are looking for

Education and experience:

  • Bachelor's degree in Information Technology, Business Administration or a related field
  • Proven experience in IT project management, preferably with experience in managing relocations or similar projects
  • PMP, PRINCE2 or similar project management certification is a plus

Technical skills:

  • Strong understanding of IT infrastructure, including networks, servers and storage systems
  • Proficiency in using project management software and tools, such as Microsoft Project
  • Ability to troubleshoot and resolve technical issues related to IT equipment and systems
  • Experience in managing relationships with IT vendors and service providers
  • Excellent documentation skills, including the ability to create detailed project plans, reports and technical documentation

  • Ability to work under pressure, manage multiple tasks simultaneously and adapt to changing priorities
  • Leadership skills to inspire and motivate team members
  • Conflict resolution abilities

Languages:

  • French at full professional proficiency level
  • English is nice to have
  • Dutch is nice to have

The setting

This is a freelance assignment for two months, starting on 28 September 2026 and running until 23 November 2026.

The role is hybrid, with a minimum of four days per week worked on site in Zaventem. Based on the fixed budget, flexible work schedules are possible with a minimum of five days per week.

You will be working for a Belgian university hospital during a period of significant logistical change.
