What you will do
You will work as a data engineer within the digital solutions team of a Belgian public-sector organisation responsible for water management. Your role focuses on developing and optimising a calculation tool that assesses the impact of measures on water bodies and environmental targets.
The tool you will work on feeds impact calculations directly into the analysis and visualisation of water bodies. It calculates the effects of measures on water quality and target achievement, and this information is used for:
- Scenario calculations
- Assessment of measure effectiveness
- Monitoring target achievement per water body
- Supporting disproportionality and cost-benefit analyses
As a developer, you are responsible for building solutions that meet the requirements set out in the functional analysis and for implementing them technically. You will ensure the quality of delivered solutions in collaboration with colleagues and end users, working according to established standards and best practices.
The development takes place in an Agile environment with a strong focus on linking scenario calculations, dashboards and water body analysis.
