What you will do
You will join a public organisation working towards an asbestos-safe Flanders by 2040. The first step is mapping asbestos presence through inventories created by external experts in a web application. Your role is to deliver data products that help business users visualise and analyse project progress, and to support a quality assurance system.
- Build and maintain data models on an Azure data platform, transforming incoming messages into a star schema for reporting in Power BI
- Develop Power BI dashboards and reports to track the progress of the asbestos inventory project
- Set up a machine learning project to identify lower-quality inventories for in-depth review by external certification bodies
- Work with stakeholders to understand requirements and deliver actionable insights
- Support data migration and quality assurance processes
What we are looking for
Essential
- At least 3 years of experience as a data analyst
- At least 3 years of experience with Power BI
- Proven experience with data warehouse modelling
- Proven experience with dbt
- Proven experience building data models
- Proven experience with SQL
- Fluent in Dutch (CEFR level C2)
- Bachelor's or master's degree in a technical or engineering field, or equivalent experience in ICT
Desirable
- Experience in the waste management sector
- Experience in the public sector or Flemish government
- Experience with AI-driven development
- Experience with Atlassian tools
- Experience with data migration
- Experience with stakeholder management
The setting
This role runs from early November 2026 to the end of June 2027. You will be based in Flanders, with hybrid working possible. The working language is Dutch.
