Cyber Security GRC Expert (Medior)

What you will do

You will join a multidisciplinary cybersecurity team at a Belgian public-sector organisation, working under the supervision of senior experts to strengthen governance, risk management and compliance activities.

Your main responsibilities include:

  • Conducting cyber risk analyses and monitoring treatment plans
  • Maintaining risk registers and producing associated reports
  • Reviewing and drafting security policies, standards and procedures under senior supervision
  • Contributing to compliance activities (NIS2, CyFun, ISO 27001) and audits
  • Feeding GRC tools, the information security management system and governance dashboards
  • Supporting the security team's broader governance, risk and compliance activities

You will work in an operational role, executing defined processes and producing quality deliverables. The organisation applies its own risk management methodology, models and criteria, which you will follow.

What we are looking for

Education and experience:

  • Bachelor's or Master's degree in IT, cybersecurity, risk management or equivalent
  • Minimum 3 years' experience in cybersecurity, risk management or compliance
  • Practical experience conducting risk analyses
  • Experience drafting or updating governance or compliance documentation

Technical skills:

  • Good knowledge of cybersecurity risk management principles
  • Good knowledge of ISO 27005 and ISO 27001 frameworks
  • Knowledge of NIS2 requirements
  • Knowledge of CyFun is an asset
  • Good understanding of IT environments: infrastructures, networks, systems, Active Directory, cloud, applications
  • Ability to use tracking, reporting and GRC platform tools

Language:

  • Proficient French (C2 level)

The setting

This is a freelance assignment for six months, starting on 4 January 2027. The role is hybrid, with a requirement to be on site in Namur at least 60% of the time, potentially more if needed.

Candidates will be invited for an on-site selection interview within one to two weeks following the proposal deadline. The interview will assess your fit with the mission, competencies, communication skills, personal qualities and motivation.
